As the coronavirus pandemic has continued to spread around the world and into our communities, we will do our best to keep you informed, in a timely manner, of all changes to our programs as a result. As we make decisions about our programs and our organization, we will post it here. There is still so much to be learned (we are following what the CDC has to say) and our Executive Director, Rabbi Joshua Levine Grater, is in constant conversations with community leaders. We are also following information received from organizations like the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank – since they are the main food provider to communities in-need in LA County.
Remember, we are all a community and we must look out for each other. Be safe and stay well.
FOOD PANTRY
Effective immediately and for the foreseeable future, we are making changes to how our Food Pantry operates. These changes are in the best interest of our community and our volunteers and staff that serve them.
MOST IMPORTANT: If you are sick, feel sick, have a fever or other, please do not come to Friends In Deed. We cannot risk getting other people sick. Do not bring extra people with when you come for groceries. Do not bring your children. We must practice “social distancing” which calls for 6 feet between people. Create space from each other. And continue to be respectful, patient, and mindful of each other.
On Tuesday, March 17, and continuing for the foreseeable future, we will not be allowing people into the Food Pantry nor will we be allowing people to shop. We are creating a couple of Shelf Stable Options for people to choose from. We will allow the selection of produce and meat. We know that this will be a change for all of us.
All Pantry hours and days of distribution will remain the same, but are subject to change at a given moment, as new information becomes available to us. We ask that everyone work with us as we continue to do our best to serve our community with dignity and respect during what is a challenging time for all of us. Please let us know if you have any questions. We will do our best to respond in a timely and thorough fashion.
