Emelin was born and raised in a small town called El Sereno, Los Angeles. She completed her B.A. in Sociology and Gender and Sexuality studies at the University of California, Irvine. She is currently attending Pacific Oaks College in order to complete a Marriage and Family therapy program that is trauma focused.

When not working or completing school related tasks, Emelin enjoys traveling with her partner, checking out vintage stores and finding delicious vegan food. She also enjoys reading and listening to podcasts that relate to mental health and social issues.
