MSW Intern/family housing navigation
Melissa is the new MSW intern focusing on family housing navigation. She is currently attending University of Massachusetts Global, where she is getting her master’s in social work. She currently holds a B.A in Social Science from California State University of Chico.
She has previously worked with Union Station Homeless Services as a housing navigator in the Family Solution Center. She has extensive work experience working with group homes, special needs children, homeless families, and maternal infant health, and is currently a life coach for a transitional-aged youth program. She is spending a lot of her time volunteering in the community. Previously she has been a girl scout leader and a soccer coach, and has also sat on both the soccer and PTA boards. She grew up in Temple city, CA but has lived in various parts of the country. She is currently living in Redlands, CA where she sits on the school site council and is also a member of the Redlands Sunrise Rotary club.
When not working and volunteering you can find Melissa out on the soccer field cheering on her daughter, walking her dog Klee, or at home with her pet bunny, Muffin. She enjoys going to festivals, live theater, exploring new places to eat and having a crafty day at home.
