Miriam Amador is a first year MSW intern who started at Friends in Deed in October 2023, where she supports the Street Outreach and Food Pantry Programs.
 
Miriam currently works for Los Angeles Unified School District as a Student and Family Resources Navigator, supporting the Counseling department and linking students and families to resources. Miriam’s school site is located in the Watts area and her caseload consists of predominantly at-risk families. Miriam was raised in South Central LA, in a very limited household surrounded by many disparities, empowering her to provide the support she wished she had while growing up.

Miriam earned her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and her Master’s in Public Administration from Cal State University, Los Angeles. She is working on her second Master’s from UMass Global University. Miriam wants to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to support our most vulnerable population.

Miriam is a passionate soccer mom, who loves spending time with her family.
