Tracy’s Story – Escaping Violence

Tracy first reached out to Friends In Deed out of desperation. She is in her early twenties and was just starting at a new job. While getting on her feet, Tracy was able to live with her older sister’s family. Unfortunately, her sister’s husband was dealing with serious anger issues. After he made threats, became violent, and endangered the children, Tracy and her sister knew they had to leave.

Her sister was able to find a domestic violence recovery program for her and her kids, but these programs generally do not include extended family members and this left Tracy with nowhere to go and in danger of homelessness. Friends In Deed was able to quickly step in and help pay for the first month’s rent in a new apartment so Tracy could move in right away. Now Tracy is working and able to pay her own rent each month, but she is so grateful that Friends In Deed was there when she needed us!
