A week before Christmas, one of our clients had picked up food from the FID Food Pantry. On Christmas Day, she noticed a homeless gentleman on her porch, leaving and then returning. This happened throughout the day.
She went about her day and decided to cook some food, for herself and this gentleman if he was around when it was done. As luck would have it, he was. She went around the side of her house and presented him with a plate of homemade food. He accepted it and then left. She said it was like he knew that this house – this place – would provide him with Christmas dinner. This brought our client a great deal of joy and happiness on a special day.
