Nathan is the grandson of Janet Wood, a volunteer in The Women’s Room who passed last fall. Janet was a dearly loved member of the Friends In Deed community. During her volunteer shifts she oversaw the laundry area and was always accompanied by her dog, Toby.
When choosing a project for his Eagle Scout award, Nathan decided to honor his grandma’s memory by also doing work for Friends In Deed. He and his friends went door to door in their neighborhoods collecting toiletries for The Women’s Room. They also left drop boxes in strategic places to gather more donations, and then collected and organized them to take to the Women’s Room. We think that Nathan has chosen a lovely way to ensure his grandma’s legacy lives on!
