Vicki has a long history of volunteering. She has served on the boards of local nonprofits, and she and her girl scout troop have made hygiene kits for Friends In Deed’s Street Outreach Team. But it was helping with FID’s Back to School event that really gave Vicki the Friends In Deed bug! She says it is the hands-on aspect of the work that makes it so fulfilling.
Since helping with the Back to School event, Vicki has been volunteering regularly in the Food Pantry, doing check-ins on Wednesdays. She also helped out with the Christmas for the Kids event, and said it was fascinating to see behind the scenes of that event – how much work and attention to detail goes into making sure every child has the “right” holiday experience.
